Since 2001, ASDACS has made distributions to directors every year.

Any Australian or New Zealand work shown after first release in most parts of Europe and some other territories worldwide can be eligible for authorship payments under the national legislations of those countries, and through the system of collective management of rights and our partnerships with collecting societies throughout Europe and elsewhere, ASDACS collects for all these works. The types of rights include private copying, cable retransmission and educational recording. These rights, known as secondary rights, go to the recognised authors of works, the creators: in all cases, the directors have an entitlement here.

ASDACS also manages collections in Australia, both on behalf of its European counterparts and through the agency administering them for its local members, for all directors’ copyright earnings under Australian law.
